Medicare Rebate
At present, Medicare offers a rebate of $87.45 for Counselling Psychologists and Registered Psychologists for up to 20 sessions per calendar year. We are able to process your Medicare Rebate for you immediately following payment.
Payment of Fees
We request payment for the session at the time of consultation. Fees are to be paid electronically only (no cash kept on premises). Please note that no additional sessions are able to be scheduled for you if a session payment remains outstanding.
Cancellation or Non-Attendance Fee
Lotus Psychology Perth asks that you provide a minimum of 48-hours’ notice to reschedule or cancel your appointment. This will allow us to see a client on the waitlist in your place. A fee of 100% of the session fee is applicable for cancellations of 24 hours or less, regardless of the reason for cancellation. For cancellations of 48-24 hours, 50% of the session fee applies. Please note that cancellation fees are not eligible for a Medicare rebate.
Attendance Expectations
We understand that life can be busy at times. However, it is an expectation that clients of Lotus Psychology Perth are committed to regular attendance of sessions for mental health recovery. If you have three (3) cancellations, reschedules, or non-attendances in a ten (10) session period, you will likely be discharged from the clinic. This is to ensure that your therapy is effective as regular attendance is a requirement for the modalities used at Lotus Psychology Perth. However, it is also a measure that has been introduced given the shortage of community mental health services to ensure waitlisted clients gain access to mental health services sooner.
Referrals
We welcome referrals from GPs (via a Mental Health Care Plan) or self-referrals. Self-referred clients may have some part of their fees covered by their private medical insurance company (contact your insurance company directly to enquire). Department of Veteran Affairs White or Gold Card holders are welcome to be in touch to see what options are available. For referrals, including self-referrals, please fill out the Contact Form and we will be in touch with you soon.
